Independent Living Services
Building Skills for Greater Independence
Practical, individualized instruction and support designed around each person's goals, abilities, preferences, and authorized needs.
Areas of Support May Include
Household and home-management skills, meal planning and preparation, personal organization, money management and budgeting, shopping, transportation and community navigation, safety awareness, communication and social skills, community participation, self-advocacy, decision-making, scheduling and time management, and accessing community resources.
Our Approach
Instruction may include demonstration, verbal instruction, modeling, prompts, practice, and gradual reduction of assistance as appropriate. Support is designed around practical, real-life learning opportunities whenever appropriate.
The Goal
The goal is not simply to complete a task for someone. The goal is to help the individual develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and supports necessary to participate as independently as possible.
